About LUONA Sauna

My relationship with sauna started long before this place existed.

Before the archipelago.
Before the window facing the sea.
Before the kiuas found its home here.

Wood-fired sauna in Stockholm archipelago overlooking the sea.

I grew up in Finland, carried as a baby into the warmth. Since then, sauna has followed me through life. In different places, different forms, always familiar.

The ritual the same.

Heat.
Quiet.
Presence.

Our philosophy

For us, sauna is one of the simplest rituals there are. Heat, water, breath.

A space where the body unwinds and the mind softens.

Where roles fall away and presence returns.

Sauna is not an activity.
It is a way of being.
Slow. Honest. Grounded.

A space where the body settles
and the mind grows quiet.

The Finnish craft

This sauna is built with Finnish principles.

A wood-fired kiuas.
A space shaped to hold warmth properly.

Then, modern notes.
A large window opening toward the sea.
Quiet light. Simple, traditional materials.

For you

This place exists for those who seek presence.

For stillness after full days.
For gathering with intention.
For experiencing the archipelago through its elements.

You reserve time.

Privacy in the archipelago.
The fire prepared.
Linens set out.
The shoreline quiet in the Stockholm archipelago.

Why I opened the doors

Because sauna has always been my anchor.
Because the archipelago has a way of slowing breath without asking.
Because the world is loud, and this space was built to soften it.
Because some rituals are meant to be shared.

LUONA Sauna

Luona is a Finnish word.
It means to be with, to be by, to be in the presence of.

In the sauna, you are not just inside a space.
You are held by the sauna.
By the heat.
By the löyly.
By the quiet rhythm of fire, stone, and breath.

Here, the sauna surrounds you and carries you for a while.
You are luona: present, embraced, at ease.
